| The CAO La Traviata boxes
come in several sizes, but all are deep enough to form a double-decker.
I sand, stain, and varnish the outside of these boxes with several coats
of polyurethane varnish, hand-rubbed between coats with 0000 steel wool
for a lustrous finish. I build a tray, stained to match the box,
with ribbon lifts, so that the box holds twice as many pens. I do
vary the exact method for forming pen compartments, as you will see
below.

Animado is the smallest of the three boxes, measuring 6 3/4" x
6 3/4" x 2 1/2". The exterior is finished as described
above, and the interior has two levels for pens. The lining is red
microfibre suede on all surfaces that a pen may contact. The
bottom of the box is covered with brown foam for a non-skid/non-scratch
surface. This box will hold 14 pens with a maximum pen length of 5
3/8" capped.

The Radiante is slightly smaller than the Intrepido, but only slightly, measuring 7 1/4" x 7" x 3". The exterior is finished as described above, and the interior has two levels for pens. The box shown is used to hold my personal Eversharp Skyline collection and is not for sale, but I have another box that I can fit out similarly on request. As usual, I have covered the bottom with foam for non-skid/non-scratch. The box holds 16 pens up to 6" long capped. Cost - this box is NFS, but a similar one with individual wood divider compartments will cost $50 plus shipping With microfibre divider compartments like the Animado above, the cost will be $45 plus shipping With flocked pen slots like the Intrepido below, this box would hold 18 pens and cost only $40 plus shipping |

The Intrepido is the largest of the three boxes, measuring 7 3/4" x 8" x3". The exterior is finished as above and the interior has two levels for pens, holding a total of 20 pens of up to 6 1/2" capped. This box holds some of my personal collection of pens, but I have another that I can fit out similarly on request. You may note that I used a slotted tray in this box instead of the individual wooden dividers in the box above. This gives slightly more pen capacity. The bottom is covered with foam as usual.
